Since he was in high school, Jerry Teeter wanted to own his own business.  Right after he turned 21, his brother helped him get his CDL while working for a short time in his auto body repair shop hauling wrecked cars. Six months later, he and his wife moved back to Omaha and, with the help of the Nebraska Business Development Center, put together a business plan and went to the bank to start Teeter Auto Transport.  Teeter is the premier source for getting your vehicle from point A to point B and their clients include dealers, auctions, car rental companies, railroad companies and everyday consumers.  A few months ago, they added indoor car storage and StoreMyClassic Car Storage is now available for car collectors, military servicemen and ‘snow birds’.

Tell us a little about your family.
I met my wife at Grace University here in Omaha during my freshman year and we were married a little over a year later.  Our first daughter was born on New Year’s Day in 2003 at 4:00 am in the morning, so we had the honor of having the “Sarpy County Baby.”  Our second daughter was born three years later in January of 2006 and our third daughter came along in July 2009.  Now at the ages of 8, 5, and 2, they are keeping us very busy with soccer, golf, and softball.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
The day I accepted Jesus into my life has by far been the biggest turning point in my life.  Since this occurred early in my life, it has had a profound impact on the value system that I live my life by and run my business.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
I love to golf.  I started playing four years ago because it was the “business” thing to do, but each year I continue to get better and my love for the game continues to grow.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
Last year, I started a girls junior golf program through the LPGA as an outlet for my girls to learn the game.  Our program, Girls Golf of Omaha, is hosted by Indian Creek Golf Course and we had 100 girls from the Elkhorn/West Omaha area go through the 9 week program this year.

What are you the most proud of?
My three girls are my pride and joy.  It is an amazing feeling to watch them as they get into the school age phase of life and really start to develop their unique personalities.
