Elite Professionals Home Care Company provides a wide variety of services for clients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, with in-home care options from one hour a day up to the full 24-hours if needed. Jennifer Gibbons, RN is the Director of Nursing and owner of Elite Professionals Home Care Company.

Tell us a little about your business. – Elite Professionals Home Care Company was established in 2003 and blossomed as a Medicare/Medicaid certified, State of Nebraska-licensed home care agency. In May of 2004 we began providing homemaker, bath aide, medication aide, licensed practical nursing, and registered nursing services as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy in the Lincoln area and surrounding communities. Between 2011 and 2012, Elite Professionals began receiving multiple patient referrals from the Omaha metro area so I made the decision to purchase an Omaha-based non-medical home care agency in order to strengthen our presence in January of 2013.

How did you get started in the business? – I became a home health provider due to my strong belief that it is in people’s best interest to remain in their community and in their homes where they are happy and where they desire to live. I believe that people who remain in their homes are able to live a more fulfilling and quality life; being involved in society and in our community allows people to feel a sense of fulfillment, while being in their own home environment allows a person to feel complete and loved.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Watching Elite Professionals grow into the company that it is today. Having such hard working and caring people on staff who share my passion to keep all people in their own home and community despite handicaps, age, disabilities or injuries.

Tell us a little about your family. – My wonderful husband also works at Elite, and we have three beautiful daughters; Ella (10), Hope (8), and Abigail (5).

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I started my first healthcare business when I was 24. We provided RN staffing contracts for 13-week assignments to both Bryan and St. Elizabeth hospitals in Lincoln. It was at that point that I knew I wanted to build a great company for people to be able to work and yet feel fulfilled by giving back to the community at the same time.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Stay at home in my sweatpants, watch movies with my family and have dinner catered in!

What are you the most proud of? – Both my family and my business.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – It comes from my father: ‘Treat people how you want to be treated because you never know when it may be your turn to need something.’

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Caring.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – The ability to be in two places at once.

Which talent would you most like to have? – To be more athletic and a better snow skier!

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Honestly, I love healthcare and being a registered nurse. I have no idea what I would do outside of nursing!
