A former sales rep with a six state territory, Curt Drew’s goal was to start his own business by the age of 40.  After doing a large amount of research, he found the Fish Window Cleaning franchise and started his own location in Omaha six years ago.  Fish Window Cleaning is committed to quality and value. They have a great staff of window cleaners, an office manager and his General Manager Tim Myrberg who really cares about their customers and does a great job. Their goal has always been to be the best window cleaning company in Omaha, not necessarily the biggest. Even though they’ve experienced great growth, they’re still able to provide reliable, quality service to their valued customers.

Tell us a little about your family.
I am truly blessed. My beautiful wife Michelle and I have been happily married for 16 years. We have three amazing children: Caroline, 10, Jack, 7, and Philip 5.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Probably my freshman year in college. I was struggling and probably in over my head. I realized I had to either focus and work very hard to succeed or exit stage right. Luckily, I chose to grow up and hit the books. Definitely proved to myself that I could accomplish anything I set my mind too.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Spend time with my family. We have a great time together. My kids still think I’m cool (sort of). I also LOVE to play golf (even though my game isn’t what it used to be).

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I enjoy running. I have finished four marathons and countless half marathons.

What are you the most proud of?
My children. They really are great kids.  Thank God for my wife. She’s an awesome mom. She’s taught me a lot about being a good parent.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
A successful business is based on solid business systems. I learned through business coaches and mentors that solid systems are the key to delegating and growing any business and you need good people running those systems.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Mind reading. That would certainly help with dealing with employees and customers, and with my wife!

What are your plans after retirement?
I’m not sure if I’ll ever really retire. I enjoy being an entrepreneur. I think I’ll always stay involved in entrepreneurial activities, but just spend less time and effort at it down the road.

Which talent would you most like to have?
Singing. I play a little guitar, but my vocals are pretty weak.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
E Myth Revisited.  This book is a must read for any small business owner.

What is your favorite movie?
Goodfellas.

What is your favorite TV show?
Seinfeld.

What is your favorite local restaurant?
Blue Sushi.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?
Keith Richards.
