Chris Estudillo first had experience with control systems while working for his dad in high school.  They had been hired to install several control systems in central Nebraska and Chris was intrigued enough to study Mechanical Engineering at UNL and was then hired by Engineered Controls as an installer.  Engineered Controls is a company that provides Honeywell building control solutions.  Their systems deliver comfort in the workplace and energy saving to their customers by controlling heating, cooling, central plant equipment, and lighting.  They also offer security solutions through a brand known as APS.  Engineered Controls currently employs over 80 people throughout Nebraska and Iowa.

Tell us a little about your family.
My wife and I are both graduates of University of Nebraska – Lincoln, which is where we met.  We have three girls: Elise, Evie, and Elena.  We were part of a recent church plant in Fremont called Grace PCA Church where I serve on the leadership team as Chairman of the Building Committee and as the bass guitar player for the worship team.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
When I was a freshman in college at UNL I was involved in a campus ministry called The Navigators.  God used this ministry to give me faith in Jesus Christ.  As a result, I am called to live life for the Glory of God.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Over the past several years, when I get a day off, I am usually working on rental houses.  I find it very cathartic to do manual labor.  I also really enjoy hanging out with my wife, playing with my three girls, hunting, fishing, golfing, triathlon training, and most recently power lifting.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I played football for the Huskers for two years.  I had to give it up after suffering nerve damage in my neck.

What are you the most proud of?
My pride comes through most clearly when I am talking about my family.  My wife is beautiful and she excels at everything she does.  My daughters are each uniquely quilted together with traits from both of us, each of them so different from one another up close yet undeniably sisters from a distance.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
People always do what they want to do most.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
I want to one day be able to give more money to charity than what I take home.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
I would like to have the ability to breathe fire.  Wouldn’t that be cool?

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
Probably my math skills.  I’m kind of a nerd at heart.

Which talent would you most like to have?
Perfect pitch.

Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller

What is your favorite movie?

What is your favorite TV show?

What is your favorite local restaurant?
