Shane Myers’ Agency offers multi-line financial services and insurance with Farm Bureau Financial Services. The newest member of the team, Brittany Shannon, is a Service Associate at Shane Myers’ Agency with Farm Bureau Financial Services.
Tell me a little about your business. – Farm Bureau Financial is a great company that’s been around for 75 years and focuses on making insurance simple for people. Farm Bureau was originally founded to assess the unique needs of farmers, but now we insure and protect individuals and families with every kind of background. In my position as a service associate I handle outbound calls and schedule client reviews.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – The biggest challenge I have faced so far has been dealing with missed appointments and rescheduling. It’s a busy world so trying to set up a meeting for someone with a full schedule is difficult. It always seems to work out one way or another though.
Tell me a little about your family. – I am getting married in a month to my best friend Adam. We have two dogs that we treat like kids and we plan on expanding our family a little more in the next couple of years!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to lay out at the lake and read a good book or do a little antique shopping. In the summer I like to play in the garden. I can’t believe I’m saying that now because when I was a kid, my mom had to bribe me to plant flowers. Now I can’t get enough of it!
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I have been planning a trip to Ireland for the last eight years and now that I have my passport, it is something I can’t stop thinking about.
What are you the most proud of? – Graduating college takes the cake. I look back now and have no idea how I ever managed to devote the time to school with so much going on in the world outside of class.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Do at least one thing every day that makes you happy.”
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Kind.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “American Honey” by Lady Antebellum.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Time travel. Asking me to not be late to something is already setting me up for failure. Being somewhere at the blink of an eye would help me out tremendously.
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I love to cook; I can’t get the baking thing down yet, but I have fun making dinner and snacks.
Which talent would you most like to have? – I would love to be able to paint. I’m pretty crafty in any other aspect, but painting is something I could never really get down.
What is your favorite movie? – Erin Brockovich or Pitch Perfect. It’s a tie!
What is your favorite local restaurant? – HuHot Mongolian Grill. I could eat there every meal of every day.
