Tell us a little about your business. – We are an auto body repair shop with three locations and a fourth opening very soon.  We take great pride in the work that we do, our motto is “We would rather be the best, than apologize for anything less.”  We also have a quote of mine hanging in our shops that says, “If better is possible, good is not enough!”

How did you get started in the business? – I grew up in my father’s body shop.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Being ahead of the curve of repair processes and procedures, as we often end up having to educate the insurance companies/adjusters about the way to do a proper repair for our customer’s vehicles.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Being selected as Small Business of the Year by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and also voted Best of Omaha for the past nine years.  We also take great pride in having the best trained employees and being able to attract the best workers in the city.

Tell me a little about your family. – My entire family is involved in the business.  My wife, Diana manages the offices and all that goes along with that.  My son, Andy is our General Manager and oversees operations at all of our locations.  My daughter, Darcie works with Marketing and Human Resources and my son Travis, is our Parts Manager and oversees all of our detail areas at all locations as well as handling glass installation.  We all work together at the business and strive to always be the best.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I enjoy being outside fishing or hunting.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I like to build custom motorcycles and have since I was in my early 20’s.  I like to build a variety of things and have been the General Contractor on all of our buildings.

What are you the most proud of? – My family and our name in the community.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Training is like mowing your yard; you have to do it every week.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Driven.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I am fortunate to be able to use all of my talents every day in our business.

Which talent would you most like to have? – To articulate my thoughts better.  I would like the ability to explain an idea or a concern quickly and directly to those who can then effectively make the necessary adjustments or changes.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Mechanical Engineer
