Nebraska Community Foundation Elects Board Members

Nebraska Community Foundation (NebraskaHometown.org) is pleased to announce the election of Damon T. “Dan” Bahensky of Kearney to its board of directors. Bahensky has been a lawyer in Kearney since 1977 and is a partner in the law firm of Parker, Grossart, Bahensky, Beucke, Bowman & Symington, L.L.P.

Bahensky has a deep commitment to community volunteerism, serving on the boards of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, Central Nebraska Goodwill Foundation, Nebraska Golf Hall of Fame and the University of Nebraska Foundation. He is past president of the Kearney Library Board, Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, Citizen Advocacy of Central Nebraska, and Kearney State College Foundation. Bahensky is past chairman of the Kearney Area Community Foundation, University of Nebraska Alumni Association, and Good Samaritan Hospital.

Five current members have been re-elected to serve three-year terms on the NCF board: K.C. Belitz, Columbus; Casey Garrigan, Omaha; Judy Parks, Papillion; Lynn Roper, Lincoln, and Greg Vasek, Lincoln.

Nebraska Community Foundation is a statewide 501(c)(3) organization using charitable giving to build prosperous communities. NCF provides training, strategic development, gift planning assistance and financial management to volunteer leaders of community-based, organizational and donor-advised funds serving more than 250 communities. In the last five years more than 36,000 contributions have been made to NCF affiliated funds, and more than $125 million has been reinvested to benefit Nebraska communities.
