Seldin Company Donates 17,620 Pounds to Food Bank for the Heartland

The Seldin Company, along with 59 of its affiliated apartment communities, has donated of 17,620 pounds of food products to Food Bank for the Heartland this holiday season. The 2011 total exceeds last year’s donation by 4,600 pounds.

The Seldin Company anticipates another 2,000 pounds of donations from apartment communities outside of the Omaha metropolitan area. The participating apartment communities waived application fees and offered $50 off the first month’s rent to any new resident who donated at least 10 canned or non-perishable food items. All current residents who donated were entered into a drawing to win one month’s free rent.

Seldin Company offered this promotion at all of its Omaha, Bellevue, Grand Island, Fremont, Sioux City, and Council Bluffs locations from November 1st through December 12th. This was the third year that Seldin Company has partnered with Food Bank for the Heartland. Last year, 51 properties participated, receiving approximately 13,160 items or 12,952 pounds. The total donations provided 10,119 meals to people in Nebraska and Western Iowa. Seldin Company is a diversified, full-service real estate firm based in Omaha.
