Omaha Home for Boys Graduates Four, Reaches Milestone

The Omaha Home for Boys(www.OmahaHomeForBoys.org) recently celebrated the high school graduation of four young men in its Inspiration Hill Residential Care Program. These young men were honored for their achievements at a luncheon and graduation ceremony held at the Omaha Home for Boys’ campus.

As do all Omaha Home for Boys’ Residential Care youth, these young men attended the Omaha Home for Boys School, a Rule 18 high school focusing on credit recovery and accrual. The four graduates received their high school diplomas from Bryan High School, Central High School, and Lincoln High School.

As graduate Kyle Walker-Bartak (pictured) gave his commencement address, he noted, “I would not be where I am today without Omaha Home for Boys.”

The Omaha Home for Boys School had a record setting academic year with students earning 368 total credits, more than double the 174 credits that were earned the previous school year. An expanded teaching staff, a new academic and behavioral incentive program for students, and a new computer based curriculum all played a role in helping students achieve greater academic success than in the past.

The Omaha Home for Boys School opened in August 2014 with six students and has grown to educate all of the Home’s Residential Care youth. The school’s goals are to develop character traits and provide educational programming that leads to school success, graduation, employment or higher education.
