The American Diabetes Association is challenging cyclists to be part of the Stop Diabetes movement by taking part in the annual Tour de Cure, a cycling event taking place on June 3, 2012 at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds in Springfield, Nebraska to help raise funds to change the future of diabetes and help stop this devastating disease.

Over 475 cyclists from around the region will participate in one of three routes mapped-out for the event, joining more than 50,000 other riders and volunteers from across the country.  Individuals and teams composed of co-workers, family and friends are taking the ride of their life by helping raise funds for the nearly 26 million Americans with diabetes.  Tour de Cure is designed for anyone from the occasional to the experienced cyclist with various route lengths to choose from. The routes feature rest stops with snacks to fuel the journey and volunteers to cheer riders on.

The Tour de Cure raises funds through registration fees and pledges collected by each cyclist. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities, please call Amy Bellows at 1-800-DIABETES ext. 6882.
