The HEALs to the Pavement for Pregnancy and Infant Loss event was the perfect kickoff for HEALing Embrace! The 5k race/1 mile walk, which proceeded down the Keystone Trail, was hosted by Peak Performance (78th and Cass) and took place on Friday, October 9th.

Following the race, there was a family-friendly event that was open to the public to encourage fellowship and create a sense of community within the Omaha area. There was a remarkable 400 people estimated to be in attendance for this very first event! Attendees were able to participate in a s’mores bonfire, children’s building projects, and a community bench building project. There was also a large silent auction/raffle, kettle corn, pancakes by The Pancake Man, cupcake decorating, and vendors such as Mary Kay, Jamberry, Lula Roe, and Keep Collective. There was also an informational education station that featured materials relevant to pregnancy and infant loss, as well as resources for the loss community.

In addition to the amazing event sponsors – Peak Performance, Sommer Family Chiropractic, The Midwife’s Place, Sunflower Marketing, Five Nines, First Lutheran Church – Omaha, Athleta, Mommy Assistant, Heafy Hoffman Dworak and Cutler Mortuaries – a huge thank you is extended to everyone who helped make this event possible. Together, we are changing the Omaha area and embracing the loss community; thank you for helping HEALing Embrace make an impact on the world!
