Nebraska Medical Association Announces New Officers, Award Winners

On September 8, the Nebraska Medical Association (www.nebmed.orgheld its 2017 Annual Membership Meeting and Awards Ceremony. Installed as President was Rob Rhodes, MD of Lincoln. Nominated as President-Elect was Britt Thedinger, MD of Omaha.

Award winners for 2017 were also named: Distinguished Service to Medicine – John Reed, MD, Lincoln; Physician of the Year – Kim Coleman, MD, Lincoln; Young Physician of the Year – Mike Feilmeier, MD, Omaha; and Friend of Medicine – Bob Bartee, Omaha. In addition, 26 50-year practitioners were recognized and $40,500 worth of scholarships were presented to deserving medical students at UNMC and Creighton University.

The Nebraska Medical Association (www.nebmed.org) was founded in 1868, and currently represents nearly 3,000 Nebraska physicians, residents, and medical students. The mission of the Nebraska Medical Association is to serve physician members by advocating for the medical profession, for patients, and for the health of all Nebraskans.
