SIDES E-Response Helps Employers Respond to Unemployment Insurance Requests

Employers can now receive and respond to separation information requests electronically after an employee files an unemployment claim. State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) E-Response offers employers a nationally standardized method to electronically exchange unemployment insurance information with the Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL) (dol.nebraska.gov/) at no cost.

Using SIDES E-Response allows employers to receive unemployment insurance requests electronically within 24 hours of a claim being filed. When responses are submitted, confirmation of receipt is immediate.

In addition to eliminating postage costs, SIDES can help reduce improper payments and employer charging, unemployment insurance tax rates and the number of appeals filed.

Responding to requests is now even easier with the new single sign on feature. Employers can log into NDOL’s employer portal, UIConnect, using their usual credentials, and get a direct link to respond to any requests without entering a separate SIDES E-Response login.
