Omaha’s Creative Center Celebrates 25th Anniversary

The 2018-19 school year marks the 25th anniversary of Omaha’s Creative Center (creativecenter.edu), college of art and design.

The Creative Center offers two degrees in graphic design: a two-year Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS), and a three-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). The college’s philosophy and objective has stayed the same since its beginning: Providing practical education and hands-on training that benefits both the student and employer. Students work on assignments from conception to final art completing a wide range of projects similar to those they will receive in the business world.

Graphic design has gone through major changes since 1993, especially in computers and technology. Laptops loaded with the latest software create stunning images and graphics. The smartphone was introduced and became the technological juggernaut which has forever changed the way everyone works, plays, communicates, entertains, commutes, and conducts business.

The college has planned an informal kick-off party for the students, staff, and faculty later this month, with lots of flashback trivia fun, which may or may not include questions about velociraptors, VHS tapes, and Blockbuster.
