The Way Banking Should Be

From businesses to farms to families, it’s the communities we’re a part of that make us who we are.

Zey currently works at the 180th and Dodge branch in Omaha. Completed in June 2011, the 82,000-square-foot location features a full service branch on the first floor with both consumer and commercial banking. The third floor houses the Pinnacle Bancorp holding company headquarters, and the second floor is leased to Seim Johnson, a CPA firm. The building received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from U.S. Green Building Council for meeting green building standards for energy performance, water efficiency, reduced carbon dioxide emissions and improved indoor environmental quality.

From the beginning, Pinnacle Bank’s focus has been on community. The bank traces its history back to 1938 in Palmer, Nebraska. During the Great Depression, Palmer, a town of 420 people, needed a bank. A group of businessmen and farmers, including brothers George and Tom Dinsdale, came together for their community to open the State Bank of Palmer – the forerunner of Pinnacle Bank’s current Dinsdale family banking organization.

The bank group began to grow in 1958, when Roy and Jack, George’s sons, purchased a second bank in Neligh. Soon the third generation of Dinsdales joined in the banking business. Sid Dinsdale, with the bank since 1978, now serves as chairman of Pinnacle Bancorp. Other family members also have key roles, including Lynn Marchese, in marketing and purchasing. Chris Dinsdale, Tom Dinsdale and Jane Rogers all serve on several bank boards. The fourth generation is also involved in the company.

Today, Pinnacle Bank is a $9.2 billion bank holding company with 140 locations in eight states: Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Texas, and Wyoming. Sixty-one of those locations are in Nebraska. Pinnacle Bank’s core values of Unconditional Customer Satisfaction, Stability, Innovation, Integrity, Community and Education are what continue to be what the guide the company through growth.
